From what you're saying I understood that if I enable RAID support and RAID-0 (striping) mode in the kernel it'll detect RAID-0 automatically upon boot up. I tried it and it didn't work. In order to mount md0 / partition on bootup, kernel must detect this Raid-0
Hello Herman, Thank you for your response. partition automatically because /etc/fstab is not available at this time yet. The only non Raid-0 partition available is /boot Would you mind please be more specific where in the kernel or elsewhere I can find this MD module you've mentioned below. By the way, the kernel which has been included in SuSE7.1 distro had this RAID auto detection module. I used it and it did work.
