I upgraded to KDE 2.2 and after about a day of sucessful use and suddently, I couldn't log in (through kdm into kde). fvwm2 worked fine so I am pretty sure the problem is with kde itself. I discovered later that it I was incorrect; I *could* log into kde, but it takes about 20 minutes to load. Applications are incredably slow as well, taking about 5 minutes to load something like Konqueror and 2 minutes to get a context menu my right-clicking. I tried un-installing kde2.2 and re-installling kde2.1.2. I tried unchecking "anti-alias font" in the Control Center (an apparent on-line solution). I tried re-installing kde2.2. The sluggish login/load time still occurs. I am posting my .xsession-errors file below because I don't know what else I can do. If someone can tell me what is going on I would *really* appreciate it because I am at the point where if I can't solve this problem soon, I will employ the "Micro$oft solution" of: re-installing linux.
