Hi,
Just to mention that I have worked it out.... but a problem still remains.
Bootup from a single disk... (removing CD's etc)
Place disk in floppy Boot up.... Kernel boots off
In hardware detection....
Wait until the display asks for a Modules Disk - Press Cancel Wait for the display to ask for a CD 1 Disk - Press Cancel.
PC then goes into installation mode - Press Back until the old yast menu appears, then go to 'boot installed system'
Type in /dev/hda7 - Press Return.
And away it goes and modules are loaded from hda7 partition... and it finnishes booting up.
Well now how can I get it booting without asking for the modules diskette or the CD 1 ?
Idealy I would like to boot up from the MRB but that seems a no go. in 7.1 it was ok and 7.0, 6.4 etc..
Coming in late on this but.... of the four installs of 7.2 I have done, all of them told me that the install was booting the boot to a floppy 'just to make sure the new system will boot'. (because I had a different boot manager in the MBR. That was ok by me. Once I got the system up and running (booting from the floppy), I changed /etc/lilo.conf to write to the MBR, ran LILO and everything was all set. Either you're trying to make things hard or there was something wrong with your install... :o) -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
