I have 3D graphics enabled and working, I think. How can I go about testing it to see if everything is set up OK. Here is what I have so far: 3Ddiag shows: ************************************************************ Verifying 3D configuration based on XFree86 4 for 3D board "Matrox Graphics, Inc. Matrox MGA G400 (102b@0525)": Tests for package "xf86_glx": package ... done. package files ... done. rc.config (SCRIPT_3D=switch2xf86_glx) ... done. Symbolic Links ... done. Test for correct XFree86 version ... done. Tests for XFree86 configuration: Config File /etc/X11/XF86Config ... done. Driver ... done. Color Depth ... done. Extensions ... done. Options ... done. When I run "gears" it shows about 500 FPS in its default-sized window and about 58 FPS in a full-size (1600x1200) window, so I think I'm actually getting accelerated 3D. What doesn't work is the GL screensavers in KDE2. If I select one of these and click on test the screen simply freezes. I needed to telnet in from another system to do a clean reboot. Are there any other tests I can run to see if 3D in general is working well (and perhaps it's just the KDE2 screensavers that are busted)? I have a Matrox G450, despite the G400, above. I think the G450's identify themselves as G400 but at a certain revision level. Mine is revision 0x82 or decimal 130. -- ____________________________________________________________________ Robert Paulsen paulsen@texas.net
