From Sean Rima to suse-linux-e@suse.com about [SLE] Stopping the screen...:

Hello everybody.
I have tried to find it in the SuSE manuals but no joy. I want to prevent the screen from blanking as it interfers with lockvs, a locking screensaver. Anyone know how to do it.
I think xset s off #should do the trick.
If he's using KDE, then it can be done from the KDE Control Center more easily and reliably. But screen blanking can occur even in console mode, though I don't remember how to tweak that. Yet another possibility is that Sean's BIOS is set to do screen blanking after some interval. If so, that will override everything else. Paul
