Hello,
Stock SuSE 7.1 installation. Plextor 12/10/32 CDwriter.
How come I can only write one track to a CDRW cd at a time? if I write one small track, and then try to write another track, Xcdroast reports errors writing track.
This is my first try at writing CDs. Just purchased my Plextor last weekend and I'm new at writing CDs.

I BELEIVE you have to make it a multi-session cd in order to write more to it after the first write. I've never done it that way but I've never expected to be able to write to one more than once. The option is in xcdroast somewhere.
I tried this, but when I click on the Multi Session button a screen pops up saying that it's not implemented yet.
Oh well, I guess I have to wait.
Thanks, jvb

If you look at my previous e-mail, it states the -multi and -nofix options of course also usable with data like:
# Burning data:
cdrecord -v dev=0,1,0 -eject speed=4 -data file.iso
in mlti mode should be something like:
cdrecord -v -multi -nofix dev=0,1,0 -eject speed=2 -data file.iso
# Blanking a CDRW:
cdrecord -v dev=0,1,0 -blank fast -eject
cdrecord -scanbus
will give your device numbers like 0,0,0 or 0,1,0 , or wait for Xcdroast to be completed.

Thanks Joost, I'm really new at burning CDs. I didn't realize that's what multi was for. Duh, I'm learning. Albeit slow.
No problem, Luck:)
