In the lastest Robert X Cringely report there was an article about XML's limitations and potential shortcomings, Thought some of you might find it interesting. Go to http://www.pbs.org/cringely/pulpit/pulpit20010419.html
Hi, Curtis. Took a look, and just a quick comment, if I may. XML represents the next generation of the Internet, once the special interests get out of the way, that is. XML coupled with XSL and you're done. Xlink and everything it promises, makes one shiver with anticipation. Imagine, a context menu following you around the web [somewhat oversimplified, but easily demonstrated], bringing up one page, and being able to call all the others rather than head out never to return to whatever the original question was. MS, Sun and the others all know this, and God forbid the individual takes control of the most sophisticated app development and leaves them swishing in the wind. But, it's inevitable, in my opinion. Just a thought from one who can't tie his own shoes. :) Tom
