how do I uninstall the old printers? I'm attaching my printcap file. There is a usblp0 in the printer1 entry.
What, exactly, do I have to uninstall? printer definitions or drivers? Is there a command line tool, and how do I use it. Should I remove the lp entries or rename the printer1 ones to lp?
Thanks Jennifer
I do not have a clue wether there is a tool to do this. There are however two tools that help with that. ;-) the editor of your choice and "rm -r" 1.) remove all lines belonging to the unwanted printer from printcap 2.) cd to /var/spool/lpd and remove "rm -r" the assoziated directories for these printers. Another alternative: Use yast to (re)set up only wanted printer and let printcap be overwritten. I do not know what happens to the spool dirs in that case.
