Hello Linux folkz,
After I compiled RAID0 support in kernel I created /etc/raidtab file and executed 'mkraid /dev/md0' as written in the RAID manual. Now I have following questions which weren't enlighted in the manual:
- How and by what mean I can format newly created RAID0 partition if I need to create ext2 and reiserfs partitions on it.
issue mke2fs /dev/md0
- Since /dev/md0 can't be mounted from /etc/fstab could somebody tell me
and where I can specify for /dev/md0 to be mounted under /newdisk
how directory at
boot time?
Why can't /dev/md0 be mounted in fstab? I have partitioned my drives as type fd (Linux raid autodetect). This means that they are detected early in the boot process. They can then be mounted as normal in fstab. (Raid support has to built into the kernel for this to happen. It is automatically in 2.4 and 2.2.18 kernels as used by SuSE 7.1 Regards, Keith Gibbons.
Thank you in advance for any help. Alex
