ipx_configure (the one I have) does not have an argument -P nor does it have arguments that allow frametype and network number. ifconfig doesn't have these arguments either. Other sources tell me that this is to early in the boot process to use ncpmount.
My mistake. I meant something ipx_interface. So in boot.local
ipx_configure --auto_primary=off --auto_interface=off
ipx_interface add -p eth0
