Ive got something really disturbing happening. Today I decided to straighten out my mail configuration on my 7.1 machine. I started by reading my large SuSE (unleashed) book then the 7.1 manual. I proceeded to start yast1 and make the necessary changes to my SENDMAIL variables. Confident I made the correct choices, I fired up pine and sent a mail (my mail should be in "deferred mode only activated nt sendmail -q) Well... sending the mail, triggered my dod and the message went off. Perplexed I was going to post the pertinent info from my rc.config file e.g. cat rc.config | grep sendmail Much to my horror I found NO ENTRIES!!! I went back into yast1, searched for SENDMAIL and sure enough they were there (my setting were intact). Referring back to my 7.1 manual (pg. 198) It says "all settings are written to /etc/rc.config" and the next 2 pages illustrate the typical entries in rc.config for SENDMAIL. I have NO entries for SENDMAIL in my rc.config file and my mail is getting sent automatically rather than in deferred mode. Now what the hell is going on!!! :-/ Please confirm or deny before I throw this box out the window at wits end rob
