Hi mpg123 will run well on low spec machines (i.e. a 486). Will probably go lower by changing some options. If you are interested, I have made a bash script to control mpg123 as a jukebox. I also have a perl script that gives a web interface... it works surprisingly well! :o) Andrew -----Original Message----- From: Oliver Ob [mailto:ob_ok@gmx.net] Sent: 13 April 2001 10:10 Cc: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] [AUDiO] Mp3-Jukebox Hallo /Lx fans! This is about Mp3-performance. What _minimum_ processor-speed do I need to play MP3z on _console_ only? My plan is to run some "jukebox" on a 486dx-2-66.vesalocalbus on console only with files that it receives via LAN. The concerned files are .wav, cd-audio, .mp3, .xm, .s3m, .mod. Would that fit to make me hear _good_ music? -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq and the archives at http://lists.suse.com
