[Apr 11. 2001 07:16]: Hi,
Okay, I got my suse system up & running, and am building the PHP3/MySQL-powered website I always dreamed of. :)
Problem with sending mail though. I've been testing with KMail and here's what happens... If I get KMail to send directly using SMTP, forwarding all messages to the M$Exchange SMTP server on our network, everything is cool. If I have it use sendmail, *sometimes* the mail gets there, and sometimes it dosen't... Depending on the target email address - it *always* gets to my hotmail account... it *never* gets to another of my POP accounts on a different network... I'm not seeing any error messages and no mails have bounced back (yet). I configured sendmail with YaST2 to also forward everything to SMTP server as described above... I had to use 'expert' mode for this.
I would suggest configuring sendmail so everything is relayed to the SMTP server. It seems as if your sendmail is trying to deliver to different servers, but canot reach them.
Hi, I thought I had it configured like that... I've looked at my log and it seems like that's what's happening, and it's happy about it: Apr 12 09:09:58 simon_linux sendmail[9308]: starting daemon (8.11.2): SMTP+queueing@00:30:00 Apr 12 09:11:18 simon_linux sendmail[9316]: f3C8BEj09316: from=denix, size=305, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<01041209111400.09314@simon_linux>, relay=localhost [[UNIX: localhost]] Apr 12 09:11:28 simon_linux sendmail[9318]: f3C8BEj09316: to=simon@widgit.com, ctladdr=denix (500/100), delay=00:00:13, xdelay=00:00:10, mailer=relay, pri=120305, relay=smtp.widgitsw.demon.co.uk. [192.168.0.4], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (OK) Looks like it successfully relayed the mail, but it got lost en route. Other mail sent from my windows box to the same address, & relayed by the same server is getting there okay. :/ Any other ideas?
