I've got a couple of setup problems: sound and network:
I use pacbell's dsl service with dynamic IP address. Pacific Bell provided the ethernet card and a westell dsl device. Win2K device manager reports them as: -- Realtek RTL8139(a)-based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter -- NTS Enternet P.P.P.o.E Adapter

I'm not able to get the network to run. dhcp can't get a response from pacbell.net
I'm willing to bet the reason you aren't getting a response is because you aren't using DHCP but PPPOE. Setup PPPOE instead of DHCP. The roaring Penguin package is likely the simplest to use.

If thats the NTS stuff don't use it if they offer you money. Just install Roaring Penguin. Which version of SuSE are you using? Roaring Penguin has shipped with SuSE for awhile. If you have an older version try: http://www.roaringpenguin.com/pppoe/ Nick
