I need to send mail to all users. How can I create a subscriber's list for all users so that all the users can receive same mail.
I'm sure I told you how to do this before... Here's a virtually identical email to the one before. If you've after something else this time, give more details. As root, use the attached script and pipe the output to a file, e.g.: bash:~ # getusers.pl > userlist Then edit the file with vi or your favourite text editor to remove and users you don't want to be on the list (e.g. root, system users, which are usually at the start of the passwd file). Put the userlist in some sensible directory, like /etc/mail, then edit your /etc/aliases file to include a line similar to: everyone: :include:/path/to/your/userlist and run 'newaliases' (to rebuild the aliases database). Note that this will create an alias that all of your users can use (by sending mail to 'everyone@your.domain.net'). If you don't want this you can comment it out after using it yourself (and rebuild the aliases database). Hope that helps, Chris -- __ _ -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Chris Reeves /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ICQ# 22219005 _\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\
