What module does modprobe say that it can't find? That might have something to do with your issue. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Charles Marcus"

I am still having this problem (Splash screen hang is fixed). I have tried numerous clean installs, mv'd .kde2 and the 3 in /tmp, and still have this problem.
I have noticed that the console displays a message about 'modprobe - can't find mod'
Anyone?? This is a very irritating problem...
TIA
Charles
