I'm having a compalation problem and I'm not too sure who to address it too. Is this a KDE question or a SuSE question ? Basically when I try to compile a QT application the configure script fails with the following error message:
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (snapshot >= Qt 2.1 beta2) (libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
Great. QT can not be found or I have an older version then QT 2.1 beta2. No problem I said to myself and I've downloaded the newest version which happened to be QT 2.3 I compile, I install everything goes fine and I try to compile again but I get the same error. This time I've also tried using:
./configure --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt --with-qt-include=/usr/lib/qt/include --with-qt-libraries=/usr/lib/qt/lib --with-extra-libs=/usr/lib/qt
Even when I spell it out for the configure script it still has no clue that I have QT 2.3 installed. I've ran ldconfig, heck I've even changed /etc/ld.so.conf and added the location of the new QT libraries there but my configure script still keeps on barfing at the same location. Does anyone know how to get around this ? Thank in advance...
P.S.: I'm using SuSE 7.1 Personal if anyone cares...
Those are definitely the correct directories? You didn't install them into another directory? The other thing to check is that your $QTDIR variable is correctly set. Did you remove the old version? Maybe you should, but I don't know what the repercussions would be for already-installed software.
