I have a Altos V-H dumb terminal attached to my serial port using ttyS0. I had this configured and working on 6.4 and 7.0. But now it doesn't work. I got it "seeing" the boot messages, and I can login if I use: agetty 9600 ttyS0 I have edited securetty and inittab with the following: S0:123:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L 9600 ttyS0 ttyS0 in securetty altos5 ttyS0 in ttytype This has been added to lilo.conf: append="BOOT_FILE=/boot/vmlinuz_24console=tty0 console=ttyS0,9600" I am running SuSE 7.1 with the 2.4.2 kernel. Hope this helps tia -- _ _ __ _____ _____ ___| |_ | '__| / __\ \ /\ / / _ / _ \ __| | | _ __ \ V V / __/ __/ |_ |_|(_) |___/ _/_/ ___|___|__| rsweet@socal.rr.com "unix soit qui mal y pense."
