I've tried running configure with --with-gnome=/opt/gnome and it found the header. Are you sure you've installed the development package? It would be gnlibsd.rpm, series gnm for 7.0. For 7.1 it's gnome-libs-devel.rpm.
BTW, if you want to see what special

experience for me b/c i have tried to get
all the elements in place and they seem to be
in playce with the exceptin of that header
file.
