Whilst it was starting up my son was stabbing the keyboard typing random characters.
When KDM started it apeared for a moment and then returned to text mode.
I've gone through XFree86 setups, yast and sax but can''t get it back.
If I manually run KDM it just does the same thing, typing startx just gives me a blank desktop with a mouse pointer, I can't see any errors to sugest what is wrong and short of a reinstall I'm not sure what to do.
Not much of a linux guru you see.
