Well, I can tell you that you can subscribe any address you wish. If you want to read this list from cs.com .. I welcome you to do so. If I am reading you correct.
I promise you no one will mess this.
What I mean is that CompuServe 2000 has its own Microsoft Windows interface and so far the only way I can read CompuServe mail is from Microsoft Windows using the CompuServe graphical interface to log-on to cs.com. Direct dial-up has not been possible via Dialup Networking.
Before CompuServe 2000's
it was possible to log-on to CompuServe via Dialup Networking and also from Linux dial-up with correctly set scripts.
It depends. As long as CS's mail server supports POP3, you know it's name/IP and have your username password handy - I cannot see why it shouldn't. If they use some nonstandard protocol / mechanism to fetch mail, dump them. As simple as that. Vote with your $$. Choose an ISP that suits your needs. Juergen
From time to time I receive emails from the <suse-linux-e> List Manager complaining that emails to my freeler.nl address 'bounce' and stating that if this keeps repeating I would be cut off from the list. Hence if one of these days this actually happens I would re-subscribe with the CompuServe address but that would mean unless I can log-on to cs.com from Linux I would have to boot Windows every time I need to get mail from the list ! As regards the 'bounce' I have not the foggiest idea as to what causes this and what I can do about it.
Any solutions welcome and thanks in advance.
