OK, here is what I have tried as far as writing to this share. (I am able to
right to it as root just fine)
Created directory /muzak
Mount /dev/hdd1 /muzak (this is the 2nd physical harddrive)
Net use m: \\lunacy\muzak (from my Win2k boxen)
Connected fine
At this point I cannot write (but I can view fine) to this directory from
account ancalagon (which is in the root group)
I attempt to change permissions to allow write access to group
Seems everything works alright
I check permissions again to make sure and they have reverted to NOT
allowing the root group to write
This is where I am at now, and I really don't know where to go from here.
On DC's suggestion, I tried this with the second drive being partitioned as
EXT2 (was trying fat32). This is my first attempt at having 2 physical
drives in Linux, so keep that in mind. Do I have to set a "global" write
permission somewhere? I am grasping at straws here...
Thanks!
