Subject: Apache/mod_ssl on SuSE 7.0
Hi!
I just recently installed a Web Server using SuSE 7.0. I installed the Apache, mod_ssl and OpenSSL packages, and it genereated a key
when booting the first time and also created some ssl-related files in /etc/httpd/. But it did not change anything in the
httpd.conf, while on an older SuSE 6.4 System I checked it seemed to put every relevant SSL statement into it, but did not active
SSL. But on my new installation even these directives are missing. So I tried to find a decent manual for configuring mod_ssl and
ended up copying most of the directives from the 6.4 system to the 7.0 system. I confirmed with a simple phpinfo() that mod_ssl is
loaded. But now everytime I try to start apache it complains it cannot resolve the directives in the <Virtualhost> section. I also
copied the <Ifmodule mod_sll.c> section, and it does not complain about that (but I don't know how to check if it parses them at
all), but i just complains about those like SSLEngine on etc.
Any suggestions ? I have never set up mod_ssl before, so any advice what needs to be changed on a SuSE 7 system to make it work are
greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
mats
