Well, I've download all the rpm files for kde2, which were residing at the URL I posed earlier. I've checked them all and kpackage reads them fine. I've sorted out the dependencies and the necessary sequence of installation: 1) libmng.rpm 2) liblcms.rpt 3) openssl.rpm 4) qtlib2.rpm 5) qtdevel2.rmp 6) <kdeqtaddon.rpm would be here but it is not in the SuSE rpms on the SourceForge URL. I am assuming it has been rolled into another rpm.> 7) ksupp2.rpm 8) klibs2.rpm 9) kbase2.rpm 10) all the other rpms in any order. Here is the advice I'm seeking: a) Is my proposed sequence of installation correct? b) Would it be advisable to remove KDE 1.x ? I've seen documentation for installing KDE2 along side KDE1 and using scripts to fire KDE2. Anyone doing this approach? How's it going? c) How does one point YaST to a local directory instead of the CDROM?
