So I tried to set up proftp this weekend and found that I couldn't get it to work. I downloaded it, compiiled, installed, changed inetd.conf and restarted but couldn't ftp to my box. So then I tried the same thing with wuftp and had the same results. I was getting a message that the server had dropped the connection... I read about a similar problem on the SuSE site and did what it told me to do (which is set inetd.conf back to using in-ftp) and I was able to ftp to my box again. So what ftp am I using and what was I doing wrong?
