Hi,
I'm going to buy a 100 Mbps network adaptor to a SMP machine. I'm
considering 3Com's 3C905C. Is it a good choice or should I buy
something else? (What?)
Why do I ask: 3C905B-TX is listed in the SuSE HW database as
problematic. The new driver 3c90x.c from 3Com
(http://support.3com.com/infodeli/tools/nic/linuxdownload.htm) is
supposed to support both 3C905B and 3C905C. It indicates there may be
problems with 3C905C as well.
I intend to use the 3c90x.c driver with SuSE 7.0. I've tried to
compile it under SuSE 6.3, but the compilation via compile_SMP failed
due to undefined symbols. When I added
#define CONFIG_X86_LOCAL_APIC
#include
