Hi, I would like to build the cyrus-imap server on SuSE 6.3. For that, I need to have Berkeley DB installed first and it has to be at least version 3.0.55. While looking around my system, I noticed what may be a Berkeley DB installation. It is part of the shlibs package. Now the question: what is the version of Berkeley DB shipped with SuSE 6.3? How can I upgrade the version since it is part of another package and therefore I cannot just uninstall it? BTW, why wasn't Berkeley DB shipped as a separate package so it can be easily removed and upgraded?
