[SLE] adding a secondary router to route.conf

I have a network where my SuSE 6.4 box can use one of two routers to get to the internet. To add to the mix, the two different routers are accessable through two different NIC's. How do I setup the router.conf so that if the primary router is not working, the secondary is used?
