This is /dev/hdc7 ---> you did not successfully inform lilo of the new location of your root partition?
whow! Indeed, it was hdc7 -at least in lilo.conf-. what shall I say: I looked a few times into lilo.conf, edited "linear" whatever. I even compared it to the "old" lilo.conf still on that second hard drive. This again *proves* two things: If you reach a point were you're realy feel lost, give it a rest for a day. and : problems with linux depend on tiny things in config files. Usually, the solution is sooo easy also : sometimes it helps to ask and look at it in the fashion you'd answer that same request. I am sure I'd seen it today, but thats still thing 1.
