Is there a way to make it so it boots like any other service?

I just set sshd up to to start on boot and here is a broad outline of what I did: 1) use the skeleton file to create a sshd start up script or use one with the software if provided. I used the Openssh distribution and it provided a startup script you can use with minor changes to ensure it points to the location you have installed sshd. It is located: /path-to-where-you-put-the-sourve/contrib/suse directory. The start-up script should be copied to /sbin/init.d/ and set with permisions for root to execute it (chmod 744 /sbin/init.d/sshd). 2) append a line to the end of /etc/rc.cofig like this: # Start the Secure Shell (SSH) Daemon? #x START_SSHD="yes" 3) Use the cammand rctab -e to add ssd to start with whatever run levels you want (I set it to start at run level 2 and 3) or manually creat the links. fini I hope this helps! -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
