He knows RedHat, but here is a "full" (not "Personal") version of another Linux (SuSE) - and it's only 20 bucks! "Hey", he'll say, "I know I know RedHat, but I wouldn't mind saving 50 bucks." Another SuSE customer sold.

I don't see this happening under the new pricing system. I dunno, but I think people are probably prone to going to the best version they can afford. As a rule of thumb, a company with less name recognition should charge less than one with more (whether or not their product is better).
