I finally had the time to upgrade to the 2.2.16 kernel. Compiled
my own from lx_suse. Everything worked beautifully. Thanks for
everyones help when I posted problems a while back.
However I could not get alsa to work. It would not detect my
SB AWE64 card. I've never had a problem getting this card to
work since RH5.2 with kernel 2.0.36. I had the latest alsa
from the 6.3 updates which was working with 2.2.13. I also
tried the one on the 6.4 updates. It wouldn't even display
a list of cards. Just gave me a "could not detect any cards.
I tried it with isapnp also with the same results.
So I'm using isapnp and just the regular driver section in
modules.conf which works just as good. I'm fine with it this
way I just wondered what was the problem with alsa and 2.2.16.
