Forget it..!!!! I just got it worked out. Finally after repeated attempts at booting from the rescue disk & re-installing lilo it worked. I think my lilo.conf file my have had some problems, so I grabed an old one. The doco is basically correct in what it asks you to do, but you do need to watch yourself though. I do however have a problem re-installing lilo on my hard disk. When I run lilo ( to hard disk or floppy ) i get the message "Map segment is too big" Any ideas.....? Is it rude to ask a question more than once...? Sorry but I'm really struggling with this one & getting desperate for a solution so please forgive me for raising this one again...
I'm running SuSe 6.4 on an old Pentium 133.. The processor and ram do the job I want very nicely but I'd like to increase the disk space ( currently 850MB ) preferably by replacing the existing disk... Does any one have any ideas...?
I was thinking of using Partition Magic but I still need to do the disk
copy
which is probably my main problem...
