Greg, I really enjoy your success. Greg Thomas wrote:
And now run:
modprobe sbawe
On the above I ended up doing modprobe snd-card-awe (modprobe awe didn't work).
Excuse the error.
sfxload /.../wathever.sf2
And I finally found an sf2 file on my computer, GU11-ROM.SF2, from the awesfx tarball.
With the awesfx tarball there were the files in bank-samples but I don't know how to load them. What's the relation between the soundfonts in the /etc/midi directory and the sound banks in the bank-samples directory of the awesfx tarball?
Take a look at your Soundcard CD ROM or at your Windows file system. Find files *.sf2. You must found a couple of GM soundfonts. You can copy them to your personal directory (i.e. /home/greg or /home/root). And load a *.sf2 doing sfxload /home/root/*.sf2. Kind regards.
