Linux can normally only handle 128 MB swap partitions, but can handle eight of these.
The citation is a little bit incomplete: these are the numbers for kernel 2.0.xx. And it continues: For the 2.2.xx kernel the limit of the swap partition is 2~GB
I believe that limitation was removed long ago but wasn't removed from the manual.

I'll remove this statement since by now it seems to cause more harm than good :) -- Linux Frechet 2.2.14 #1 Fri Mar 17 00:27:51 GMT 2000 i686 unknown 10:28am up 22 days, 17:56, 12 users, load average: 0.23, 0.35, 0.22 work : ke@suse.de Karl Eichwalder home : keichwa@gmx.net -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
