This error indicates that sendmail cannot resolve your ip/domain as bting on the local domain. You need to ensure your domain is in the your sendmail.cw. Also if your server is like mine: raymond.brevsville.com.au and my dns resolves my address as chris@brevsville.com.au (note the "raymond" is missing) you need to add like so, to your sendmail.cw: brevsville.com.au raymond.brevsville.com.au So that sendmail will not give you a relay denies error. Hi all,
I have sendmail 8.9.3 on my system .. I followed the steps mentioned in JC Pollman's tutorial..
Then just to test my setup, i pointed the SMTP to my Sendmail box, and tried to send out emails from the machine running sendmail..
I am unable to SEND emails to anyone .. each time i get the same message ' An error occured while sending mail.. the mail server responded ..
.. Relaying denied .. please check the message recipient list again ' What should i try next ?
