Could you kindly post what you did to fix your problem, for the benefit of all who read this list.
Thanks
Sure. I just created or edited these MIME types in Netscape. This took me hours since it was my first time messing with mime types on my own. I have no idea what the realplayer plugin is supposed to do but it's not doing anything for me that I know of. It does seem to be installed correctly. The %s part of the command is what was eluding me. Name: audio/x-mpegurl mimetype: audio/x-mpegurl suffixes: .m3u Application: xmms %s Name: audio/mpeg mimetype: audio/mpeg suffixes: .mp3 Application: xmms %s Name: Real Audio mimetype: audio/x-pn-realaudio suffixes: ra, ram application: rvplayer %s This works for mp3.com and real.com. I have not tried it anywhere else.

I've been trying to get this working for hours. I've got RealPlayer 7 basic and have set it up according to the instructions on mp3.com. When I try to play something it launches but doesn't play.
I've also tried to use xmms this way with the same results. I can't find any clear instructions on how to make them work. Would someone be so kind as to suggest something I may be missing?
I finally figured it out. Right after sending this message.
