Cheers muzh - reading the documentation does actually work!! ;) For all those who want to install Kernel 2.4.0 and get that modem dialling out you need to get the latest version of the pppd daemon at the following address ftp://linuxcare.com.au/pub/ppp/ppp-2.4.0b2.tar.gz Extract it. ./configre make make install will do the job nicely.
