That doesn't help me either -- I've tried all the filesystem types. I'm thinking there might be something else to look out for. Is there a way to check if the device is 'mountable' or not? i can't get the partition to show up in LILO either, for some reason.

My fstab:
/dev/hdxx /windows/C vfat noauto,user 0 0 Tom
Is this 6.4? It was done at install w/6.4. However in the past I have simply done: mkdir /windows/C (or however it's listed in fstab) and then: mount /windows/C /mnt or something along these lines. I know others add some other stuff like -t msdos, but it has always worked for me w/out anything else. Go into YAST --> SYSADMIN--> Kernel and Boot config and add it to Lilo. Of course run /sbin/lilo after to see if it took w/out errors. I know this is sketchy, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I will jump in and correct any misinformation. BTW, if you're using KDE, Kwikdisk shows all and will mount and unmount disks and partitions. Tom
