Unless my French isn't too rusty, this also matches with the French translation: 1) Secteur maître d'amorçage (MBR) 2) Sect. d'amorçage partition racine 3) Sect. d'amorçage partition /boot 4) Sur disquette
As I returned to my friend's home yesterday, I took the time of writing down the French translations for 6.4, as they were displayed by YaST1: 1) Secteur maître d'amorçage "MBR" 2) Secteur boot partition root 3) Secteur d'amorçage de la partition 4) Sur disquette For me, 2) is bad French[1], even if I understand what it means. Your translation is surely better, but this is not what YaST showed to me, while you suggest it does. As for 3), it is a bit meaningless. But your translation now suggests to me that the line was truncated in the YaST display, so also truncating its meaning, and producing the ambiguity I reported. YaST should never truncate lines, or at least, not without giving some hint that the truncation occured, and some mean to see their full contents.
Yep, the help text doesn't match with the menu - neither in the English nor French version, not even in the German version :-]
I think that there are a few glitches in this area, which need to be corrected in YaST. -------------------- [1] My friend is not comfortable with English, so he asks me to select French when working on his machine. I still see a few questionable choices here and there, but overall, the French from SuSE is a lot better now that what I initially saw, releases ago. The first time I tried French, it was really bad, and sometimes plain misleading, to the point I thought for some time it has been all produced through Babelfish or such automated systems. That is, the wrong way.
