I am very happy with my instillation of SuSE 6.4 and now want to put it up on one of my portables. I have the choice of installing it on a Dell Inspiron 7500 or on a Sony Vaio N505VE. I am curious if anyone can suggest a reason why one of these choices might be better than the other, as I am pretty much free to choose. Any reported experience with either system would be helpful to me in making this choice.

Try looking here. It helped me a lot with my piece of junk Compaq.
I've had no experience with the Inspirion, but I can say that the Vaio is a less-than ideal box. The problem I've found with the Vaio's is that Sony had a nasty habit of putting every device imaginable on IRQ 9. The Dell machine does have quite a bit of documentation on the web. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 x121 _\_V 6D04 39E0 CAE9 9ADA 2CA3 2EBE 898A 6C37 CA1E A29C -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
