Are you trying to ping hosts on 10.0.0.0 or on the internet? Are you pinging by address or hostname?
The contents of /etc/resolv.conf is the following:
/* comments ... */ search jetpa.com.tr nameserver 10.10.10.1
Question is, how can I do a configuration so my normal network programs can work?
If you are trying to ping to the internet through a

Yes. I'm trying to ping internet. Not in local network. Pinging local network (I mean, addresses 10.10.10.x) is working good.
And yes, you're right. That NT router is also proxy. Another guy from the list told me to configure proxy from rc.config. Already there are proxy configurations for HTTP, FTP and GOPHER. According to the comments in rc.config programs like lynx, arena should work when proxy parameters are properly configured. But they just don't work! (for example; I get an "alert: Unable to access document" when try to connect to a web server on Internet with lynx.)
With your proxy environmental variables set properly lynx should work no problem if Netscape does.
Pinging or telnetting is not working neither by address nor by host.
I believe Thomas is right. It doesn't seem to be possible. I really wonder why this is so. Why can't I ping or connect to a host outside of our network. Does it yield to a security problem? Or is this just an option that I can change (by changing permissions) on NT?
It's entirely based on what type of proxy your NT box is running. If it's just an http and ftp proxy then you're not going to be able to do anything more than those. If it's some type of NAT with something similar to BSD's ipf where you can maintain state for all outgoing connections, then your ping and traceroute will work transparently. You can't ping to the internet from 10.0.0.0 addresses as they are not routable, you need some kind of NAT or rdr to ping from a private network to the internet.
