I have had exactly the same problem as Rowan Reid in trying to get ssh2.1 to
compile on 6.3. I had put it down to my own lack of experience, but maybe
not.
I did find several sites with archived rpms for ssh2.1, splitting it into
base, client, server and extra rpms - all these worked, with the exception
of the ssh2.1-server-blah-rpm, which reported a failed dependency with the
cryptic message
failed dependencies [something-too-cryptic-for-me-to-remember] must be >0.9
This made the whole thing no good for me, as I need the server side to work
before ssh2 will be any use to me - as others have mentioned (either here or
elsewhere, sorry can't remember), the backwards-compatibility with ssh1.x
advertised by the ssh2 sites doesn't appear to work by default - connecting
an ssh2.x client to a ssh1.x server seems to produce only error messages fro
me.
I'd be really grateful if anyone could tell me if they've found rpms that
work / a method of getting around the make errors reported by Rowan.
