I'm running SuSE 6.3 as a DSL gateway and web & mail server on a P90 w/32M RAM. Twice now, over a period of about two weeks, the network has gone down for an extended period of time (>2 hours) for no apparent reason. It responds to pings, but not to any other network requests (mail, telnet, web...), either from inside the LAN or from outside. I'm running Apache & Zope for the web, & qmail via ucspi-tcp for SMTP & qmail-pop3d via inetd for pop. The problem seems to fix itself given enough time (hours) or shutting down the system fixes it. Just rebooting does not fix it. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks!
