Actually depending on the mobo you can mix memory chips, because im running 180 mb of mixed ram, i got fpu, edo, and sdram running on this m5atc mobo and i have been running it for 2 1/2 years with no problems what so ever, in winders, linux, beos, and i just tried it in freebsd, all runs great, they all recognize the diffrents chips at boot up.... This is a memory problem if you get segmentation problems and lockups!!! You can't mix memory chips at all. get all the same type! I fixed my problem when I changed my memory.
