There is a little more to it. I have Lynx working fine and I have neither wvdial nor kppp working. Lynx works fine on my local Apache even without pppd working. Dwight On Fri, 31 Mar 2000, Jim Worrest wrote:
I have used LYNX with both wvdial and kppp. You have to have one of
those running first before you try to access the Internet. wvdial can be used outside a graphics interface such as KDE--though it seems to work better inside one. After connecting with with wvdial from cell or command line (hey! I'm basically a newbie) or what you call the non-graphics side Linux issue a control-Z and just type Lynx www.suse.com or whatever you want to contact, and away you should go. I would also set up the config file first for lynx just so you can use the email feature, color and whatever other feature you want. Lynx also works great from the konsole using kppp. When you want to mess around on the Internet, don't want to waste time with graphics, lynx is great. ---Jim
