xntp is the network time protocol daemon, while rdate or ntpdate can be used to initially set time, xntp keeps the time accurate once your system is running... look for ntp.conf file in /etc. -Herman Jeroen Verstegen wrote:

I used to have a daemon (or was it a cronjob?) that made my linuxbox connect to a special site on the internet once in a while (everyday i think) and adjust it's time. I've lost it somehow and I can't find it anymore. I don't think it was xntp, but maybe it was. Where do I have to look?
