another thing i was just thinking about the slang is that, people from other countries put some of their email through translators, and the translators dont make perfect translations and i can see also where it would be hard to understand what the email is completley saying. I know there is email etiquette - but you could be a bit tactful.
I'm not one to talk about spelling or grammar, but I've noticed that some of the posters here regularly dismiss all forms of etiquette. It is one thing for an individual who doesn't speak English natively to goof on a word placement or misspelling; it is entirely another to use slang as their grammatical base. Using "u r" instead of "you are" is simply laziness, and I for one do not approve; it introduces all sorts of communications barriers. Some of the posts made on this list would lead the reader to believe that the poster were under the influence of alcohol or strong muscle relaxers, and I'm glad that someone spoke up about it.
If you need a bit of non-standard English to make a point ("it ain't that friggin' hard"), I'm sure that anyone who understands your words would let it pass, but some are still left scratching their heads. I personally try to avoid vulgarities, but often find myself missing that goal as well ;).
