You might be able to prove the point by opening the case and pointing a desk fan into it at full blast. What you really need is a better CPU fan.
This is one reason I see a plausible future for Transmeta... their processors are almost as hot as bathwater, while Intel and AMD are making electronic frying pans. Guess what that means about power consumption...
