Hi,
** Click a .jpg & see it download as text in Netscape.
** Netscape's insistence on screen redraws every time you scroll isn't too
** nice either.
Hey, thats a good thing - It's like one of my very bad Visual Basic hacks.
The message box states:-
"Please use File->New before clicking this otherwise you will trash
your data"
** Netscape forces you to write Netscape compliant code -
** probably as many bugs, but they're propriatary. It's acknowledged that
** Netscape is the major player not conforming to standards, whether those
** standards are now defined by M$ is a moot point.
It works ok with W3C recommended HTML 4.0 (as all my pages validate to :-)
Nothing really supports proper w3c specs anyway, because the official docs
(I have the 2Meg PDF here), dont specify anything like pixel sizes etc.
Perhaps that might be useful?
Important Quote:---
"The standard is only a recommendation and a browser is an interpretation
(however bad) of that standard" - Me, 24 Mar 2000
** I'm a shite html programmer (programmer of any sort) so I'll accept the
** wisdom of others on matters I'm ignorant of.
Hey, you defined your own tag - You're one step closer to XML than I am. I
don't even know what the hell XML is supposed to make easier.
Ignorance is directly proportional to Sanity :-)
** We need a third way, which isn't yet Opera.
Yes - I agree. I think a big, Linux-like project is in need. Something
totally independant unlike Mozilla - which is as shite as most browsers and
seems to be written in a 'too modular' fashion. Modules always go wrong.
Chris.
